Specification:
The filter media must be suitable for use in a Fixed-Bed Biofilter (FBBF):
- High surface area of approximately 220-250 m²/m³
-Density higher than that of water to ensure secure settling in the filter tank
- High stability and abrasion resistance for long service life and minimal generation of microplastics
- Open structure to allow good water flow and aeration of the bacterial cultures
- Chemically inert material, resistant to pH fluctuations, salts, and process chemicals
- Backwashable to ensure low maintenance requirements
The typical filling ratio when used in an FBBF is 100% of the filter tank volume.
