This practical intensive course is designed for operators, professionals, and beginners who want to run an aquaponics system safely and economically in their daily operations. You will learn daily water chemistry management as well as professional handling of fish and crops from rearing to harvest.

  • Fundamentals: Understanding biochemical processes (nitrogen cycle, nutrient dynamics) and the basic operating principles of aquaponics.

  • Water Chemistry: Understanding relevant water parameters and their interrelationships (pH value, carbonate hardness, CO2, ammonium, ammonia, nitrite, water temperature, dissolved oxygen, EC value).

  • Water Analysis & Parameter Adjustment: Confidently measuring, evaluating, and controlling critical water parameters.

  • Starting a New System: Proper cycling and commissioning of a new facility to establish a stable ecosystem.

  • Fish Husbandry: Key aspects of fish keeping and handling, feeding strategies, and disease prevention.

  • Harvesting & Processing: Proper purging/holding, slaughtering, processing options, and the potential utilization of fish processing waste.

  • Plant Cultivation & Care: Efficient sowing and planting, identifying and correcting nutrient deficiencies, targeted supplemental fertilization, and biological pest control during ongoing operations.

  • Practical Operations Management: Daily maintenance routines, restocking, propagation, and yield assurance for both fish and vegetable crops.
